We have a dozen Drop In & Decorate® cookies-for-donation parties signed on for the Coast-to-Coast Mothers' Day Celebration, May 1-10.
If you're thinking about joining us (and there's still plenty of time to get in on the fun), and you want to know why cookies matter, please read this post on Kat's Kitchen Place.
Kat will be hosting her first cookies-for-donation party, in honor of her mom, who was a superb cookie baker. The cookies will be donated to New Hope, in Attleboro, Massachusetts. New Hope offers counseling, a domestic violence hot line, and emergency shelter for adults and children victimized by domestic violence situations.
[Update 4/15/09: Kat has connected with two additional agencies to receive cookies during this event: the Franklin Senior Center, and St. Vincent de Paul at St. Mary's Parish. It's great to be able to serve several small agencies during one event!]
With your help, we hope to decorate and donate more than 1,000 cookies, coast to coast, between May 1-10. There's a great prize (including enough dough for 120 free cookies from Immaculate Baking Co.) for the host whose events donates the most cookies, and you'll be able to read about and see photos from all of the events here.
Want to host your own cookies-for-donation party, in honor of your mother, your mother-in-law, or mothers everywhere? Here's how.

I'd love to be a part of this project. What city is going to be happening in?

There are events happening all across the country. If you email to me (lydia AT dropinanddecorate DOT org), and let me know where you are, I'll tell you more. Maybe you'll be the person to start a Drop In & Decorate® event in your city!
