Many thanks to Joan, who organized her first Drop In & Decorate® party in St. John, New Brunswick (yes, Canada!) as part of the Coast-to-Coast Mothers' Day celebration, and sent these great photos (along with this one that we showed you last week) with the following note:
Our Drop in and Decorate took place last Sunday during our Sunday School class. We invited all the children who attended church that day from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
Although we usually have a larger crowd, there were only 12 kids that day.
They didn't mind the small numbers, as they got to decorate as many as they wanted!
The first cookie they decorated was for themselves, but they had to put it aside until all the cookies were done.
While the icing hardened, the kids got to have some juice and their special cookie.
We made and wrapped 100 to give away. 50 went to Hestia House, a women's shelter here in the city, and the other 50 went to Romero House, a city centre soup kitchen.
They were both thrilled with their cookies, and when I explained that the cookies were fresh and could be frozen, their remark was, "Do you think they will last that long? They'll be gone by tonight!"
Thanks to Joan and these wonderfully talented kids, we are 100 cookies on our way to our goal of donating 1,000 cookies between now and May 10. There are many more cookies-for-donation events happening between now and Mothers' Day, including our flagship event in Rhode Island this weekend, so watch this space for more reports and mouthwatering cookie photos.

Get 'em while they're young!! Great photos.
