Jennifer, in Kansas City, Missouri, sent these great photos and a report on their recent cookies-for-donation event:
Thanks so much for your wonderful idea for Drop In & Decorate. I was able to host a small event on November 22, just in time for Thanksgiving. (That's me, in the purple sweater.)
Three girls and I decorated about 95 cookies for the Cherry Street Ronald McDonald House in Kansas City, MO. We bagged up all of our creations and took them over to the house the same day we decorated.
I've already received a thank you card from the house letting us know how much they appreciate anything that makes the house more like a home, especially at the holidays.
We're planning to host a larger event for Christmas actually at the Ronald McDonald House, so that kids staying there can have a chance to decorate. We may do batches and batches, so that families there can have some cookies and be a part of giving them away to another shelter in town.
What a fun event, and how wonderful that you're already planning another event to decorate at your recipient agency. We love your banner, too: Happening Here! Happening Now!
Special thanks to all. You are rock stars!

Your coookies are beautiful! Having a Drop In at Ronald McD house sounds like a great idea, especially with the families then having the opportunity to donate the cookies to another agency! I could use a banner like that for my Drop In event at work next week!

Very cool! I'll be headed home to Kansas City this Christmas, so Jennifer, if you need a St. Louisan to help you with your event, totally count me in. Lydia has my e-mail.
Cheers,
