Pat Wishard, Public Relations/Program Librarian at the Washington County Free Library in Hagerstown, Maryland, shared this account of their first Drop In & Decorate® event earlier this month:
We had a great day. Around 70-75 people decorated cookies. Many were kids. And that was great. The moms were excited that their children had the opportunity to participate in an event centered on giving to the less fortunate. We had a snowy day and people really got in the spirit as they watched the snow fall.
We decorated nearly 400 cookies and delivered them to the REACH homeless shelter at the end of the day.
Thanks so much for letting us be a part of this wonderful program. This had such a great reception that I am sure we can turn it into an annual event and include our branch libraries as well.
Thanks to Pat and all of the decorators. What a great event!

Wow! That's a lotta people who participated and a lotta cookies decorated. I'm sure the recipients of the cookies enjoyed them.
