A few days before Christmas, the Acorn Center for Early Education, part of the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, hosted their first Drop In & Decorate® event. Cookies were donated to the National Asian Pacific Center on Aging. Michelle Dandrea, the teacher of these great pre-kindergarten kids, was looking online for a holiday activity for the children. "I watched a video of Drop in & Decorate with my pre/k class this morning," she wrote to us. "The children are very excited about hosting a Drop In & Decorate party."
Ted Chaloner, a Drop In & Decorate Board member, attended the event. "These three girls," Ted explained, "asked their teacher if they could host their own event. So today 4 and 5 year olds from the Acorn program decorated lots of cookies which will be given to the senior center tomorrow. The children will give out the cookies and sing!"
Thanks to BCNC and Ted Chaloner for sharing photos of this really fun day, and thanks to the kids for making so many seniors smile!
