Co-workers Melissa and Jessica hosted their first Drop In & Decorate® event just in time for Valentine's Day, and shared this report:
We hosted a Valentine’s decorating event for S.A.F.E Houston with 3 of our friends. S.A.F.E. hands out bagged lunches for homeless young adults who have aged out of the foster care system the first Saturday of every month. Instead of packaged chocolate chip cookies, they got decorated cream cheese cookies! We decorated over 100 cookies and delivered 50 bags of cookies.
We also donated a plate of Nutella cookies for the volunteers to enjoy.
We received this note from S.A.F.E: "I want to THANK each of you for coming out and making S.A.F.E. Saturday a success, by donating of your and/or food and drink!! We filled 50 bags to distribute to homeless young adults (18-24). Everyone enjoyed the cookies donated by the "Drop in & Decorate" group. Thank you again for spending several hours of your Saturday to help those less fortunate than we are."
We’re hoping to plan another event for our office in the next coming months!
