Mothers' Day Drop In & Decorate® event #9: Washington State

For Brenda and her daughters, Drop In & Decorate® was a two-for-one event.

Two-for-one, because they ended up making 65 cookies twice, decorating twice, and delivering to SafePlace in Olympia, Washington, twice. Sort of.

Here's the end of the story:

My delivery today went without a hitch!! YAY!  Since the office staff knew I was coming today, they were ready for me and accepted the cookies graciously. This is such a cool thing that I will definitely do it again. Count me in when you do any more events. It was fun!!

Mothers' Day Drop In & Decorate® event #8: California

What do CORA, Haven House, and Ronald McDonald House at Stanford have in common?

They all received donations of beautifully decorated cookies as part of the Coast-to-Coast Mothers' Day Drop In & Decorate® celebration -- a total of 160 cookies!

Gudrun, also known as Kitchen Gadget Girl, organized the party, her second cookies-for-donation event, and invited friends Stacey, Lisa, Charissa, Donna, Christy, Kelly, Celia, Sue, Noreen and Marsha.

Mothers' Day Drop In & Decorate® events #5, 6 and 7: New York City, Colorado and Ontario, Canada

One of the cool things about Drop In & Decorate® parties is that they can be very large, or very small. And sometimes the best things do come in small packages.

Three of the cookies-for-donation parties in our coast-to-coast Mothers' Day celebration were either small by design, or small by happenstance. Hats off to each of these hosts (all terrific food bloggers) who were determined to find ways to bring some cheer to others on Mothers' Day.

I baked and decorated some cookies (just by myself, no big deal) and brought them to a retirement home near my home. They loved them! They were so surprised and appreciative. I told them all about Drop In & Decorate and they were very interested. They were so glad to be thought of -- many of them didn't have visitors that day or had no children. I had a lot to be thankful for that day!!

Natashya, of Living in the Kitchen with Puppies, baked and decorated seven dozen cookies with her daughter and her daughter's friends. They donated to The Denise House.
